a rose is a rose is a rose

crimea culture of violence? the united states? certainly not! state sponsored execution, militarized political expression, pro-life murders, the sport of classmate killing and the rampant popularity of the police procedural cannot be used as evidence of a society obsessed with the infliction of abuse…no look to it’s idioms before condemning a civilization. only a culture of life could graciously embrace a phrase like “drink the kool aid” into its lexicon, a liberated society where citizens take turns being “thrown under the bus” and “rearrange the deck chairs on the titanic” for one another. lo, compassion for the living and the dead is found throughout and it is only a matter of time before we all are “writing ‘pig’ in blood on the front door”, “drowning in a new orleans attic”, and “taking a ride in the white bronco after slaying a waiter” because this is how we best express ourselves in those situations we find ourselves in our everyday lives in our life-respecting and -affirming culture.

“like sands through the hourglass… so are the days of our lives.”

“we are the nobodies”
